Garwood Police Department
Welcome to the Garwood Police Department
The Borough of Garwood is located in the center of Union County New Jersey. Once known as the industrial center of Union County, our Borough has transitioned to a more commercial based suburban community conveniently located within easy commuting distance to NYC. Our Department has served and protected our residents and visitors to our community since 1906. With a patrol area of just under one square mile, we serve approximately 5000 residents and have roughly 1750 households. Our Department is comprised of 17 sworn Law Enforcement professionals including the Chief of Police plus 4 civilian dispatchers. Garwood affectionately refers to itself as a "small community with a big heart."
The Garwood Police Department, maintains order, preserves and protects the lives, peace and property of the citizens of Garwood by vigorously patrolling the Borough enforcing the laws of the State of New Jersey and the ordinances of the Borough of Garwood. The members of this agency are sworn to support the Constitution of the United States and the State of New Jersey. Welcome, and thanks for visiting with us.
